Tantamount

ADJ: equivalent in seriousness to; virtually the same as

The resignations were tantamount to admissions of guilt (that wasn't my sentence, but this is a tough word to understand so i thought i would use the dictionary's sentence as well).

Meredith's extended prayers are tantamount to her faith in God.
God's promise of Abraham's son was tantamount to Sarai's conception.
Meredith's pre-cal teacher is tantamount to Satan ;)

Meredith is tantamount to totally awesome!

  1. This word is tantamount to tricky.
    Tantamount rhymes with paramount. (This sentence doesn't count.)
    The contrast between light and darkness is a tantamount metaphor of the vast polarity of holiness and sin.
    The time I spend talking to Tim is tantamount to the time I spend with the friends I actually see everyday.
    Using the word tantamount makes your sentences longer because you have to use more words to qualify its use.
