Effigy

noun
a roughly made model of a particular person, made in order to be damaged or destroyed as a protest or expression of anger.
(not to be confused with the word efficacy)

In colonial America, the king was burned in effigy.
The mean boy dressed a doll like his sister, and vaulted the doll off the cliff in effigy.
The girl shredded the love letters in effigy of her past relationship.
(this is a stretch) King David was loved by all because of his ruddy face and bright eyes; he was never burned in effigy.
In the same way, no one would ever want to burn Tim in effigy.

See if you can come up with a better religious sentence. I didn't do so well.

can't say that i'm not judging you for not coming up with a good bible reference. I'm taking vocab club and friendship club points away from you. i'm currently winning as vocabulator and friend ;) all we need is a little more competition in life, right?

  2. let me get this straight, just because you came up with a better religious reference, you win not only as vocabulator, but as friend? apparently, the two are equivalent. next time i don't have time to talk, i'll just use a difficult vocab word to make up for lost time. if i miss your birthday, i'll just use the vocab word in more biblical references, and that'll be okay?
